Greetings Friend!
We’re wrapping up the year in a nourishing way! Our final program, part of Cooperate WNC’s Mutual Aid Roadshow, was a great way to meet sweet folks, eat good food, share seeds, learn trees, and talk about building community power!
This newsletter includes program updates and some ideas for special gifts to give this season. But first, an update on our fundraising drive and a new film!

Starting on January 9th, Dreaming Stone will host a weekly dance practice, led by Tevyn East. Open to all levels of dance experience. We will release tension while building strength, flexibility, balance, and ease of movement. Enjoy heightened awareness of this precious gift of a body and the eternal “now” that it inhabits.

A Holiday Blessing, Holding the Light and the Dark!
Each year, we return to the power of hope within enveloping darkness. Yet again, we are weary with grief for the perpetual threats against life and are daunted by the forecasts of more trouble to come. We help each other remember – we are not alone, our trouble is not “new”, and an eternal spring of brave love is forever feeding the dark soil of possibility.
For those of us in the Christian tradition, we are claiming that hope is a refugee child, born under the shadow of empire, amidst a brutal economic system, far removed from comfort and safety. And that birth changes the playing field for all seeking beloved community.
This year, we are aching with the grief of loss. Rick Beck, my father in law, passed on December 1st. His fun-loving, joy-full spirit will be living on – on dance floors, within epic ballads, and in the hearts of those he left behind. We recognize that so many are grieving during this season. Our hearts are with you as you weave together the pains and the pleasures of being alive in this time – so full of tragedy and beauty.
