Abundant Summer at Dreaming Stone!

The abundance of summer has been a blessing…

we’ve got a lot to shout about!

Greetings Friend!

We summited a new peak. We had our first camp! Not only was it disaster free, it was a huge success! I heard from many kids that it was their best camp experience ever. We feel so blessed to have had such awesome volunteers, regular teaching artists, guest teachers, and to connect deeply with 15 kids! Each day had fun new lessons about the garden, nature, animals, folk traditions, our local food system, and some traditional world music and culture, to top it off! Everyday we practiced drumming, gymnastics, and poi spinning and shared it all with parents at an end-of-the-week celebration. Fortunately, we documented it on social media, including this sweet montage from Saturday

Check out our toilet art!
New mini-murals finished!

Eli Sanchez’ work is superb, covering the front of the Mothership and filling our bathwing. Her artistry was featured in the Carnival de Resistance and you can follow her ongoing work @eli_yao_
We’re filling our bathwing with critters from the watershed, with the hopes of turning our daily “business” into a ritual of re-turning to the basics. The bathwing sports 4 compost toilets, 5 critter murals, and we have plans for watershed maps, compost shrines and educational material about healthy soil, water, and waste cycles.

Follow the fun! Share our good news!

News from our Community!

For those new to this newsletter, this non-profit is connected to a land- based community project. Here are some updates …
– Romina (and Leonardo) gave birth to a baby girl, named Libertad, on August 1st. Here she is with big brother Léon. They are still in Italy and are planning to return this fall.
– We finally finished installing a solar array, the 1st phase of a 3 part design that will power our micro-grid.
– Jay is providing drum classes at Ruff’ton Roots community garden, and at some other regional retreats.

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough. – Meister Eckhart

We see a world of need and grieve the growing threats against life and community. It is a blessing to be able to dive into the work of building alternatives, supporting connection across differences, and allowing the land to re-enchant us and serve our healing! May you find the healing and the meaningful work that allows you to love your fullest!

Enduringly,
