Belly Dance for Beginners
Rutherfordton Food, Art, & Brew is excited to present this six week beginner level Belly Dance Class, hosted by Dreaming Stone Arts and Ecology Center and led by Annabella Coffey. Funding for this class comes from a Meta Community Action Grant and a NC Arts Council Grassroots Grant. This class is open to students age 16 and up and is being offered at no cost for the first 12 people to sign up!

About The Class:
This six week course will cover the basics of Belly Dance. Students will explore the history of this ancient and beautiful art, practice dance techniques, become acquainted with traditional and contemporary belly dance styles, music, props, and costuming. By the end of the course, students will have learned a short choreography and be familiar with the 7 basic movements of belly dance.
Students should wear lightweight, comfortable clothing and have a water bottle on hand. Flexible dance shoes, socks, or bare feet are recommended. Students may bring a hip scarf or coin belt to class, or use one provided by the instructor.
