Dance Practice on Thursdays
Movement Practices – Thursdays: 6 to 8 pm
with Tevyn East
6 pm – “Free the Moving Body”
We are all moving bodies that get achy and stagnant. This dance practice provides simple and delicious ways to dive into our alert, sensing bodies. This includes spiraling stretches – good for our muscles and myofascial layer; strength building – that supports strong alignment; and repetitive fluid movement that supports range of motion and healthy joints. This class is available to all levels of dance experience, but requires some bravery and focus.
7 pm “Authentic Movement”
This movement therapy practice is very simple, vulnerable, revealing and healing, as it includes an open and accepting witness. This practice has been cultivated and experimented with since it was first developed in the 1970’s by Jungian psychologist and movement artist, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. You must have a conversation with Tevyn before attending for the first time.
